Current obsessions

I  love love love radio shows, but they're basically impossible to find on FM stations. That's okay, because I found a website for them. (I found it when i was looking for retro radios shows, there's a bonus if you're into that)

1) old time Halloween radios i'm listening to "Escape" right now.
*You will hear me drone on and on about radio shows, but that's because i love them.
2) I've also re-watched Matilda (I LOVE THIS MOVIE)
3) coloring books
4) I've started to knit again, and let me say that is one relaxing hoby
5) YouTube  playlists I've been making :D
6) A horse name Gypsie movie (really old, and really sweet)
7) zucchini !!
8) The food network (why does Chopped get so intense ?)
9) Vita coco coconut water. I didn't think I'd like it because most drinks that get a lot of hype in my town taste like dirt. (I'm looking at you spinach, beet, wheatgerm and honey smoothy!) But it has a very subtle taste. I'm really fond of the one with pineapple.
10) Documentaries!!!! I love ending a stressful day with a good doco you know? I'm not sure if it's the large amount of information i can get in a short time, or the calming voices of the narrators but I just love them. (I watch a lot of ones on BBC)
11) Reading a wide range of blogs. I'm in need of some inspiration, but I'm mostly looking for some entertainment/informational pieces.

Blogs I've been reading:

Darkly inclined themed:

Gothic charm school (The websites covers more than the book alone)

Stripy tights and dark delights

I've also rearranged my room (again.) It's one of those things that helps me concentrate, and get creative.

Rice porridge recipe

I'm not the type of person who eats a lot for breakfast. I'm not sure why, but my stomach can't handle having a lot of food in it before 10 am.
Anywho, rice porridge is basically my best friend. It's not too heavy, but it can also keep you full for a long time. It's also super easy to make.
I start off with reheating some precooked rice (oatmeal is a suitable replacement)

I add 1 cup of cold water, and wait for it to boil. After that i just add some milk (you can replace this with almond or soy milk if you like)

Keep stirring it It should look like this..
It should up looking like this. Now you can season it. Breakfast always seems like it should be sweet to me, so I add some honey and fruit. And you're finished !!

gifts and crafts.

So with my birthday being just around the corner, I expected a nice day alone on the horizon (every year I ask to be on my own for my birthday. I know it's abnormal to ask for that, but I really like to spend some time going to restaurants, museums , graveyards, or the book store by myself. I can linger as long as I want, and take a ton of picture without feeling like I'm bothering people)
This year, however, had a nice twist to it.I got an amazing mug from my brother. Now, I know that most people who don't know me personally will assume that I hate things like this. Ah, but that'snot true. I LOVE THIS!!!!! I always pick necromancers in any game I play, my favorite magic the gathering colors are black and green, and believe me Halloween isn't my favorite Holiday just because that's what all the hip kids say (Hip kids? did i really just say that ?)

The meteal interior kept my carrot soup warm for suuuch a long time. I haven't given it a name yet (because i have to name everything) but I know that its is a gift i will love for a long time

Okay enough of that.

Finding ways to reuse or recycle all the boxes I have laying around is fun, but has  been a bit challenging lately. The good news is that I also had to clean out some of my crafting supplies, and got some much needed inspiration.

<-- the box with no home :(

cleaning out one of my craft boxes

 Ahh so messy!

And here's the finale product!!

Now I can leave myself notes, hang up my keys, and check the mirror all before dashing out the door.

plasticLand unboxing!

Why hello there! I mentioned that I got a package from plasticlLnd in the last post, right? Welp, this is it. Let me just say, The shipping is so fast you'll get whiplash.
Let's just cover up my information .

So here's an arcrylic cameo of a deer

I love the grey contour lines, the shiny finish, and the heart cut out is to die for. The material is pretty strong, (I've dropped this a least six times) and just a lovely piece of decor all together.

I like to think I'm a pretty fungi :P I saw this mushroom stamp and just had to have it.I love writing letters by hand, and this little accessory will just add to the fun. I like that it doesn't come with an ink pad. Here's why. Some letters look better with red ink accents or black or blue or what have you. The other thing is that the ink would've gotten every where.
It comes with it's own stand.

Now I want a pen pal :(

You can get these at Shopplasticland.com

A slow, but interesting day

I've been learning how to relax (ugggh, it's so hard to do especially when I'm used to running around all the time) I usually start my day off with a nice cup of tea. (I'm using my new tea infuser and some lose leaf jasmine tea) and some rice porridge. This is a great breakfast, especially if you want to feel full for a long period of time and/or if your stomach is too sensitive to eat normal breakfast. (As is the case with me.)

Afterwards, I  fed and walk the dogs and took a couple of photos. There's a tree right outside my window that I call Gavin. Now that it's in bloom I hear clumsy bumbling bees bumping into my window. (I can't help but laugh to myself when i hear it)

The blooming tree

we also came across a very pretty patch of weeds. I know that some people hated them, but I love the different hues of nature wherever I can find them.

Taking pictures of animals is kind of hard because they can hear you coming from a mile away. Look closely, what animals do you see??

After going off to school, finishing up m y classes, and studying for a bit I decided to linger in the library.I picked up some language learning aids and the Tale of Genji (everyone should read this book!!) These books were all found in the same section which is always a great thing for me. (I can't stand walking in front of  the large crowds that surround the study rooms, so the less roaming around (In this case) the better)

I also ordered King Lear and Gothic charm school a while back and am excited to continue reading them. King Lear was one of my least favorite play by Shakespeare, but I guess things change as you age because now i love it. I won't give any spoilers, but HOLY CRAP! the court jester throws so much shade. (I love how sassy Shakespeare is)

My package from plasticland came in today!!!  I'll make a separate post on that later. I also made dinner, and went right back to studying. and walked the dogs a couple more times. Now that the day was winding down I decided to knit a bit, and do some reading and blogged on my other blogger.

Oh man, I also got an early birthday present from my brother but let's hold off on that for now.
